At the recent Keystone Fibrosis meeting (Snowbird, USA; March 26-30, 2017) together with TNO we presented a poster on total collagen analysis vs dynamic collagen analysis in mouse tissues.
For acute fibrosis models, especially targeted on organs with high intrinsic collagen levels such as lung, the use of dynamic collagen analysis using deuterated water increases the window for assessing therapeutic intervention. For chronic fibrosis models such as diet induced NASH/fibrosis, both analyses give a similar window for assessing therapeutic intervention, but the QuickZyme total collagen analysis is faster, easier and cheaper.
